Introducing Our New Book Design

The House Detectives have had lots of fun this week designing a brand new layout for our house history books.

We’ve settled on a flexible format that can be adjusted to suit each home owner’s taste, so we can offer a range of colour schemes and font styles. These super-glossy hardback books are up to 100 pages long, full of beautiful old photographs and historic illustrations of the area where the house was built so you can see how it has changed over the years, and we even have our own architectural photographer who can take stunning professional photos of your home to include in the publication.

We intertwine the stories of the people who have lived in the house with the history of the local area, and include colour images of the many documents we have unearthed that reveal the history of your home – from parchment deeds, tax records, census returns and electoral registers to early maps and bomb surveys. Some clients like to include a chapter about their time in the house, and dig out photos they’ve taken of building and restoration works carried out recently, which all form a part of the property’s history.

Every home has a story to tell, and we think presenting it in a beautifully designed book really brings it to life. We’re currently offering our bespoke books at a special promotional price for Spring 2013, so why not treat yourself or a loved one? What a unique gift to receive! Email us to find out more.
